(Excerpt from my AOTY full review) Some people say that, Shoegaze feels like a perfect genre for East-Asian’s teenagers. The noise in the surface blends with the emotion of loneliness and struggling inside, or adding up a bit of hope sometimes, iconically and artistically representing those teenagers’ inner world in the face of fast-developing society and uncertain personal future. The proof? This album.
Thank you Parannoul for making my AOTY of 2023. Wish I can see you in China. litdinosaur
Having listened countless times in the past years, I still don't feel qualified to comment on this album that poses a strong question to society and ourselves, "Who stole my tongue?" The metaphor is carefully planned throughout the album with a storytelling that guides listeners to look for their own answers. Along with masterful composition and arrangement, 이민휘's performance brings waves of emotions all at once. It is extremely rare for an album to be timeless, but I'm sure this is the one. Akira
Ten gorgeous compositions from Iceland’s Gísli Gunnarsson that ride the line between ambient & modern classical. Breathtaking. Bandcamp New & Notable Nov 25, 2023
